Autobiography
To truly be dedication to any artistic endeavor illustrates a titanic task which requires a great amount of courage and sacrifice. I was always interested in the arts - as a young girl I wanted to study modern dance, but quickly realised that this would not meet my parents approval. I therefore chose to study architecture, for its creative elements and lucrative prospects. During my studies, I took part in a theater workshop which was led by the late Alberto Montalba. I quickly became fascinated with everything the theater had to offer. I left my studies in architecture and enrolled in the Theater School of the Catholic University (TUC).
After finishing my acting studies in 1980, I took part in various theater groups in and around Lima, Peru. However, my participation in the group CUATROTABLAS with a large Repertoire in theater enlarged my artistic horizons. In 1985 we began a six month theater tour around Europe, I eventually settled down in Germany in 1987. My artistic scope grew, especially with the interaction with internationally recognized groups such as ODIN THEATER in Denmark, ROY HART THEATER in France, PINA BAUSCH in Germany and with such teachers as BUTOH TANZ from TADASHI ENDO; KO MUROBISHI and EUGENIO BARBA.
In 1986 I became the theaters director, in which time I also began teaching - articulating the main techniques from Stanislawsky and Grotowsky. Today, almost 20 years later, I am still happy to be teaching and directing the theater.
I must confess, that the vast repertoire was not an easy task to carry out. Those who I met during my life could see the efforts we, the artists, must rear. But of course, it was all well worth the invaluable experience -it is always easier to maintain enthusiasm for a profession that comes from the heart and soul of ones being.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those many people who have supported me throughout the years, and for those who will lend their support in the future. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING MY PROJECTS, MY EXPECTATIONS - AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE STILL CARRYING THIS TITANIC LABOR.
